Week 4 Recap

Matchweek 4 wraps up with upsets and some high scoring games. On a snowy night, the players toughed out the difficult road conditions to take the pitch. Here are the outcomes:

Jerusalem FC     2   |   7     Anatolia FC

In a match was supposed to be a close affair, Anatolia came out storming and came away with lopsided victory. Jerusalem was missing some key fixtures from their side but Anatolia's overpowering offense was too much from the blues. JFC actually started off with the lead on an Umair Wasim goal but Anatolia struck back minutes later. Omair Sheikh would give JFC the lead again but Nehad Shihab produced one of his three goals to tie the match. After that, it was all Anatolia as they continuously had odd-man rushes that produced goals. The huge margin of victory puts Anatolia back at the top of the table on goal differential and they face a revamped Hejaz side next week.

Man of the Match - Nehad Shihab

Andalusia FC     3   |   4     Samarra FC

In a dramatic upset, Samarra shocked league leaders Andalusia in a close affair. Samarra new recruit Khizer Shahzad is turning heads with his brilliant play and he blasted Samarra out in front. The dynamic duo forming with Danish Khan and Khizer controlled the match in the early stages as Samarra went up 3-1 at the break. Andalusia rallied back on a pair of goals but Samarra always kept their noses infront as they came away with a huge victory. Samarra put themselves firmly in the middle of the table with a victory and face Sham in the final week of the season.

Man of the Match - Khizer Shahzad

Sham FC     1   |   3     Hejaz FC

In the late match, the two sides at the bottom of the table looked to take advantage of the other to move up in the standings. Hejaz had two players drop out last week with Farhan Ahmad and Faheem Kotwal suffering injuries. Hejaz replaced them with the Akram brothers and the younger brother already made his presence felt. Junaid Akram introduced himself to the league with 2 goals to turn Hejaz's season around. Without Muhammad Shah, Hejaz couldn't have asked for a better result. The team looked much better balanced and created scoring chances. Junaid's brother, Fawad will make his league debut next week. Sham played a better match this week but continue to struggle with scoring chances. With another single goal game, they need to find a way to create more chances. Mohammad Mahmood was the lone goal scorer on a blast from distance but Sham barely had any close chances. Hejaz face Anatolia next week and will need another victory to get back in the playoff race.

Man of the Match - Junaid Akram

One week left until the holiday break. Important matchups next week that could shift the balance in the tables.
